Welcome to the San Francisco Bay Area! It houses a population of everyone from the white collar financier to the broke college student. Benefiting greatly from the rise of technology, this is the area that gave rise to many of the social networking sites we know today and was the first to use the Internet as a major news outlet. The area has made great strides in biomedical research and has pioneered stem cell research, among other specialties. It is the sixth largest market in television and the fourth largest market in radio. Two beaches (Baker and Ocean) boast vibrant surfing communities. Many local boutiques manage to cater to the needs of locals and tourist interests. It possesses an active nightlife and a liberal political scene. In short, everyone is welcome.
